The Foiled Terror Plot on the Saudi Ambassador Leaves Many Questions- Opinion Article

By Robert Hunter

The questions we should be asking now, is why would Iran attempt an attack on Saudi Arabia’s ambassador Adel Al-Jubeir, on United States soil, given the fact that we could end Iran’s existence in about 28 minutes, using some of our nuclear capability?  Why would Iran solicit the Mexican drug cartel to solicit murder-for-hire to kill the Saudi ambassador to do their dirty work, and what possible inroads could Al-Qaeda have in this mix of things?  We also have to consider that in the world of Oil, Iran is a large enough player in that industry and that question is who they will or will not sell oil too?

The assassination plot was discovered three weeks ago, and since its discovery, this editor’s thought as to what may be happening in the background, is that the USA may working with Saudi Arabia to come up with a plan for retaliation strong enough that could put Iran back in its place. In other words we, the USA would supply Saudi Arabia with enough arms, munitions, and possible naval and air support to hit strategic targets inside Iran which would result in critically damaging or disabling their entire nuclear capability, setting Iran back a few years in their quest for their place in the nuclear arms race in the Middle East.

The botched assassination plan of Saudi’s U.S. Ambassador really exposes Iran’s intentions, not only on Saudi Arabia, but to the U.S.A.  Iran seems to not have any regard for U.S citizens.  Had that assassination attempt not been thwarted, countless American citizens would have been killed.  This may very well be only be the beginning of what’s to come from Iran over the next few months and years.  I don’t think any of this surprises anybody does it really?

Imam Anwar al-Awlaki in Yemen October 2008, ta...                 Image via Wikipedia Anwar al-AwlakiTo think the Mexican Drug Cartels are so bold as to think they can come into our country and use our weapons, oh yes, our weapons, against us!  Well it has been going on for several years in our border towns.    The Cartels don’t seem to have any problem killing their own government officials so they can continue buying and selling drugs/arms trade with the U.S.A so why not kill a Saudi Arabia ambassador on U.S soil?    I think it is a wakeup call that is long overdue, don’t you?
It is imaginable to see China and Russia taking sides with Iran because they not only have similar minded societies but Iran could strike a deal on their oil prices to not only supply China and Russia their oil, but gain their sympathy as well and further divide the world’s superpowers.  USA against China and Russia, I can see it now.  Where is all that oil going to go?

As for Al-Qaeda, they may have to take a back seat in this most recent skirmish or will they?  If anything, Al-Qaeda may try to exploit this opportunity to pursue their revenge against the United States after we successfully attacked one of their own,  the U.S.-born militant cleric Anwar al-Awlaki in a missile attack on Sept. 30th    but, only time will tell.

So I guess in  examining the larger picture of things in this most recent event, it may of boil down to whose side are you on, or it may come down to who is going to buy oil from whom?  In answering these questions, we would know for sure, who is really for us and who is against us.
